50-year anniversary
Institute of Microbiology of NAM Belarus
From 7 to 11 September 2015, the International Scientific Conference " Micro-technologies: Basic and Applied Aspects " was held in Minsk City from 7 to 11 September 2015, dedicated to the 50-year anniversary of the Institute (Division) of microbiology of NAM Belarus. The event brought together more than 160 scientists, representatives of research institutions, universities, ministries, industry and business from the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania and other countries to discuss current issues of modern microbiology and biotechnology, to share experiences on improving research and accelerating the development of scientific research in the real economy.

The opening of the Jubilee Conference was held on 8 September 2015 in the Grand Conference Room of the Bureau of the NAM of Belarus. The meeting was formally attended by the President of the Council of the Republic, M.V. Mulyković, who congratulated the Institute of Microbiology on the important date and noted the important role played by the organization and its Director, Colomica E.I., in the development of domestic biotechnology. Congratulations were expressed by the Chairman of the Bureau of the National Commission of Belarus, V. G. Gusakova, Principal Scholar of the National University of Belarus, A. V. V. Kilchev, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, A. G. Schumilin, Academia, Secretary of the Department of Biological Sciences of the National University of Belarus, M. E. Nikiforov, Dec. The representatives of research institutes and biotechnology enterprises of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed their welcome and best wishes on the occasion of the 50-year anniversary of the Institute of Microbiology. The Director of the Institute of Microbiology, Colomic E.I., made a presentation entitled " From scientific research to innovation: 50 years of the Institute of Microbiology of NAM Belarus " , which reflected the historic milestones of institution-building, the contribution of Belarusian microbiologists for development biotechnology, noted relevant challenges and research directions.
