Microbiology Diagnostics

Microbiological diagnostics - based on the identification of the driver or the identification of the immune response of the patient. The starting point of M.d. is the selection of material and the transport of samples to the laboratory. The type of research material is determined by the characteristics of the disease. There are several general conditions for taking it. The probes are taken before anti-bacterial therapy starts, or after anti-bacterial drugs are removed. If the study is to be carried out during the treatment period, the influenza (e.g. penicillinasis in case of beta-lictam antibiotics) shall be added to it when the material is planted. When the material is taken, the rules of aseptics are followed. The quantity of material should be sufficient for analysis. The material obtained from chronically sluggish infectious processes contains fewer micro-organisms than in the acute process, so more is required to provide the driver. The samples of the material are collected in sterile dishes marked, placed in special bixes or penals and sent to the laboratory.

The accompanying document(s) describes the nature of the material, the timing of its receipt, the data on the sick, including the alleged clinical diagnosis and the listing of antibiotics used in the treatment, the name of the institution, the sending office.

The transport of the research material is carried out within a very short time frame. Refrigeration at t° 4° (or on ice) allows for an increase in time before the start of the study by 30-60 mines Longer storage may result in the loss of entrants or changes in the quantity of microflora parts. Therefore, in cases where storage and transport takes longer than a day, preservatives or transport (supportive, reservoir) environments and special means of maintaining micro-organisms are used. For example, for the transport of samples of material intended for the provision of anaerobic bacteria, sealed flasks or flasks filled with non-oxidized gas shall be used. Ricketsia, chlamydia and viruses are distributed in specialized laboratories or major diagnostic centres where material is sent in well-closed containers in frozen condition (dry ice).
